Definitions
- Publication day: the publication date stated on the notice by Doffin, TED or BOAMP.
- Indexed: the moment the notice was first stored in Tenderen's index, converted to Norwegian time (Europe/Oslo).
- Median days: half of the notices were indexed in fewer days, half in more.
Method
- Tenderen stores every tender notice with its publication date and the time it was added to the index.
- The study selects every notice published from 1 July to 30 September 2026 and counts the calendar days between its publication date and the day it was added to the index.
- Day differences are counted in Norwegian time, because the publication dates on the notices are calendar dates without a time of day.
- All figures come from one read-only SQL query in PostgreSQL (aggregates only, no customer data). The query is kept with the product source code (apps/backend/scripts/research/indexing-speed.sql) and was run on 26 October 2026.
- The result is published unchanged as JSON (download below).
Limitations
- Publication dates have no time of day, so indexing speed is measured in calendar days, not hours.
- This study measures when a notice enters the index. It does not measure alert matching or email delivery.
- Most Norwegian notices in the index come from TED: on 26 October 2026 the index held 10,790 notices with buyer country Norway, of which 2,832 came from Doffin.
- One quarter (Q3 2026) only. Outages or slow days in other periods are not covered.

Frequently asked questions
- How quickly does a new Doffin or TED notice appear in Tenderen?

- Why do French notices arrive a day later?
- BOAMP is read once a day, early in the morning, so notices published during a day are indexed the following day.
- Will you publish this again?
- Yes, as a new dated study with the same query, so the numbers can be compared. Published figures are never edited afterwards.
