Microsoft Teams integration: tender notifications in a channel

Tenderen sends your notifications — new tender matches, deadline reminders and changes to tenders you follow — to a Microsoft Teams channel as an Adaptive Card, through a Teams Workflows webhook URL that you paste under Settings → Notifications.

Best for: Organisations that run on Microsoft 365 and want tender notifications in the team channel where bids are discussed.

What gets posted

Each notification arrives as a card with a title, the message and, when it concerns a tender, a button that opens the tender in Tenderen.

  • New tenders that match your alerts
  • Deadline reminders for tenders you follow
  • Changes to tenders you follow, such as a new deadline or new documents
  • Reminders for requirement items assigned to you

Set it up

  1. In Microsoft Teams, open the channel that should receive notifications, choose ⋯ → Workflows → “Send webhook alerts to a channel”, finish the template and copy the URL it creates.
  2. In Tenderen, go to Settings → Notifications, turn on Microsoft Teams and paste the URL.
  3. Save, then send a test notification. Tenderen tells you straight away if Teams does not accept the card.

Troubleshooting

  • Nothing arrives: check that the full URL was pasted and that Microsoft Teams is turned on. Tenderen refuses URLs that point at internal or unsafe addresses.
  • The test says Teams did not accept the message: the workflow may have been turned off or deleted. Open Workflows in Teams, check that it is on, or create a new one and paste the new URL.
  • Your organisation blocks Workflows: ask your Teams administrator to allow the “Send webhook alerts to a channel” template for the channel.
  • You still use an old Office 365 connector URL: it keeps working until Microsoft retires connectors, but switch to a Workflows URL now.

Limits

  • Part of the Pro and Enterprise plans.
  • One webhook URL per user. All of that user's notifications go to the same channel.
  • The category switches under Settings → Notifications apply to email; Teams receives every notification Tenderen sends you.
  • Notifications are one-way. You cannot act on a tender from Teams.

Frequently asked questions

Can several people send notifications to the same channel?
Yes. Each user pastes the same webhook URL in their own notification settings.
